Vertices is an asymmetric shawl based on a modified log cabin construction, with alternating panels of lace and garter stitch. It can be worked in one color or many colors, and in any weight of yarn! Instructions are given for a one color light fingering weight version, a two color light sport weight version, and a 4 color worsted weight version. Choose your colors and have a great time with it! You can easily make it larger by adding more repeats.

Note that different knitting styles seem to affect garter stitch more than other stitches; beware that you may need to purchase extra yardage or go down in needle size if you are a loose knitter. When choosing to substitute yarns, be sure to purchase extra yardage, as the different spin and fiber content of the yarn may affect the amount of yardage used.
