Through The Gate Gently is an act of love and remembrance. I didn’t realize it when I started, but by the time I finished this gentle hazy green shawl, I knew it was my subconscious mind working away behind the scenes. The hat I’m wearing in the pictures was given me by Suzanne Middlebrooks at the 2020 Hill Country Weavers retreat in Texas. She always made me – and everyone else who knew her – feel like Austin was my home, and I never imagined that would be the last time I saw her, or how much would change in the days after.

To Suzanne, and to the many we have loved and lost: you will never be forgotten. Rest easy, my friends.
