I wasn’t sure what to call these mitts. In neon and four colors, they look so completely different from their two color version that I could never decide on a name. The pattern itself looks like the mountain peaks of home to me, protecting and sheltering. I’m making a pair for all three of my guys, and each is such a unique person. I am so incredibly grateful for them.
To me, Thanksgiving has always been more about giving thanks for all we have and less about an idealistic and inaccurate story. And as I sat here knitting away, thinking about all that has passed in the preceding year, the mitts pretty much named themselves. The Thanksgiving Mitts don’t take long to make, and you can make them with just scraps of yarn, because the main ingredient is love. They’re easy to re-size, and snuggly to wear.
