Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops – at all
~ Emily Dickinson
Hope makes everything better. Light as a feather, Soul Perch is a slightly oversized, comfy, ethereal cardigan that reminds me to let my heart sing a bit, even in the darkness.
Using a strand of sport weight and a strand of mohair, or just using DK by itself, the cardigan is worked flat from the top down, beginning with the ribbed neck band and followed by a pretty lace and cable pattern at the yoke. Sleeves are worked picked up from the yoke and worked down to the cuffs and two options are given: full full – shown in the sample – and a more traditional, tapered version. The button bands are picked up and knitted. Optional tubular bind-off instructions with video support are provided.
The lace & cable yoke pattern is both written and charted.
