My younger kiddo has always loved fuzzy, warm things more than anything. He’s been sick with Covid at college, even though he is fully vaccinated, and it was a bad case. When I was able to get something to him, I sent him snuggly things: a body pillow, a weighted heating pad for his chest… But in the end there’s nothing else like a hand- knitted piece of fuzzy love with a hot pink pompom. The hat he chose to keep used about 130 yards of dk weight wool with odds and ends of mohair/silk totaling about double that yardage. It’s got a button inside to switch up the pompoms, but he didn’t want any others.
Fuzzy Love Hat is simple to make and easy to re-size. It’s got a patttern that shows on a lighter color or just looks tweedy with a darker color. You can wear it with a pompom or without. And best of all, it feels like a warm hug.
