A lot of my designs are inspired by traditional textiles and motifs of America’s native southwest, and this new bias-knit scarf is no exception. I love its spirited tribal vibe, as well as its ability to ward off knitting boredom with a variey of techniques: stripes, a little stranded colorwork, and an easy lace.
Techniques used: Increases and decreases, joining colors, reading charts, simple lace (RS only), stranded knitting, shadow-wrap short rows.
Pattern includes: Written instructions, colorwork and lace patterns in charted format only, glossary, linked tutorials.
Colors used in sample:
Stripe colors: Smoke 135 yds, Pebble 90 yd, Dove 65 yds;
Lace color: Dijon: 80 yds;
Stranded colors: Blackish 25 yds, Centro 20 yds, Cameo 20 yds, Cielo 15 yds, Rain 15 yds, Bronze 10 yds.
Substitute any light sport weight yarns that work nicely to gauge: 475 yds total yarn length.
