When I saw the Death by Chocolate Gradient by Miss Babs, my mind immediately went to the rich, red of Dark Andromeda in Yummy 2-ply and those heart-shaped boxes full of chocolates which make their appearance this time of year. Hence, Cherry Cordial was created.
Yarn: This shawl uses one 400-yard fingering weight skein and six gradient fingering weight skeins, each at least 110 yds. Additional gradient sets to be used with a 400-yard fingering weight main color can be found here.

Cherry Cordial is an asymmetric, triangular shawl. It consists of simple garter stitch coupled with the Aster Flower Stitch. It is a bit different from the usual asymmetric triangles in that the stitch count for the Aster Flower Stitch section remains the same. There are no increases or decreases and only one color is used per row. This makes for quicker, easier knitting and results in a “scalloped” effect along both the neckline and bottom edge of the shawl.
