Charlotte and Wilbur

$10.00

SKU: kCD_HAnderson_CharlotteWilbur Categories: , ,

Inspired by the special friendship between Charlotte (the spider) and Wilbur (the pig) in the story Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White, this shawl is worked from the bottom cobweb edge up. Short rows move the cobwebs crisscross across the garter stitch body. Your main color yarn choice would be gradient and variegated friendly, while the edging will show best in a tonal or solid yarn.

Finished Sizes: approx. 64”(88”) wide x 13”(17”) deep, 162(224) x 33(43) cm after blocking.

• 2 colors fingering weight yarn, such as Malabrigo sock or Manos del Uruguay Algeria

• US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 32” (81 cm) or longer circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)

This shawl may be worked with lighter or heavier weight yarns. If you change the yarn weight, make sure that you choose a needle size that gives you the drape you desire in the fabric. Yardage requirements will change based on yarn weight and gauge.
