A Celtic Quilt 2 combines a delectable collection of cable-and-lace blocks into a quilt landscape ~ an heirloom knit to be treasured. This Celtic quilt consists of 9 individual cable-and-lace blocks, each surrounded by a composite border; the outer edge of the quilt is finished with an I-Cord Bind Off. The only sewing required are a few tiny stitches to join the I-Cord ends.
Each block begins with a Provisional Cast On (PCO). Once the cable-and-lace pattern is complete, stitches are picked up along each side of the block as well as from the PCO to work the border. This border is worked in the round, outward; increases are worked at each of the four corners to help the border lie flat. After the final round is complete, stitches are placed on waste yarn so blocks can later be joined using a 3-Needle Bind Off (link to a photo tutorial provided; full instructions for this bind off are not included in this pattern).
