Headlands approaches asymmetry in a round-about way. Though the shape is completely symmetrical, the top stitch pattern creates asymmetry due to its slant. The edge is a knit on lace edging, and I love all the color combinations possible.

Note that different knitting styles seem to affect garter stitch more than other stitches; beware that you may need to purchase extra yardage or go down in needle size if you are a loose knitter. When choosing to substitute yarns, be sure to purchase extra yardage, as the different spin and fiber content of the yarn may affect the amount of yardage used.
