~ so practical when a sweater is just too much ~
Whether worn alone or over a favourite blouse or turtleneck, this elegant cable and lace tunic will add a touch of special to any outfit.
This square neck tunic features an off-centre cable band on the front in a field of Stockinette stitch; a band of wrapped stitches acts as a visual separator and leads into the butterfly lace yoke. The back features only a single cable motif at the center, positioned just below the wrapped stitch row; the back yoke matches the front. Sides are slit from hem to mid-hip. The armholes are finished with a narrow moss stitch border and the neckline is completed with an I-cord bind off to nicely tie in with the cable design.
Knit top-down, the front and back are worked separately until the armholes are complete, then the work is joined and knit in the round to the side slits; front and back are worked separately again and finish with a Moss stitch border. Armhole and neckline edgings are added by picking up stitches. No sewing is required.
