Volvox, inspired by lace reminiscent of nature! Volvox is a spherical, hollow algae colony that contains from 500 to 60,000 cells that is often invisible to the naked eye.

Volvox is my opportunity to play with a beaded version of Barbara Walker’s Sunspot lace pattern. I didn’t count but I know the shawl has more than 500 and less than 60,000 stitches!

The construction of Volvox is unique and engaging. The pattern includes a detailed map of the construction and video tutorials when necessary!
