VALE starts with a provisional cast-on above the hem, worked bottom up in the round to the armholes, then divided and worked flat to the shoulders. The eyelet hem is picked up at the cast-on then worked top down. Sleeves are picked up at the armhole edge and worked top down, ending with an eyelet edge.
