Life itself is an adventure. It starts with simple steps and as we progress we encounter more interesting times that we learn from and that build our confidence, urging us on to face our next challenge with bravery. Intrepid Spirit is a shawl that echoes this but you don’t need to be brave or adventurous to knit this shawl; starting with a stocking stitch, beaded body that leads into a series of diamonds, each layer getting slightly larger and more heavily beaded. The grand finale of the shawl is a beaded lace border that finishes with dramatic, beaded, points – the celebration and flourish at the end of the journey. Miranda Heavy Lace (600m/100g) is a wonderfully soft mix of Alpaca/Silk/Cashmere and there is enough in one skein for this shawl as written. This is a light and airy shawl that could be worn as a scarf, shawl, shawlette or wrap as easy to wear with jeans as it is for a more formal event.
The instructions for this pattern are both written and charted for a one size, one skein, shawl though the pattern is easily adapted to make alternative sizes. All lace patterning is on the right side only.
All patterns include written instructions and charts where necessary. It is the third collection from Boo Knits and is an ongoing ebook. Patterns will be added as they become available.
